 | | Tewkesbury CC v Royal Household CC
Another successful day out at Windsor and some cracking weather too so a good day was had by all. The cricket proved to be a bit of a run fest with us making 259-6 (S Tame 106, S Vincent 59, T Allcoat 28 ) and RHCC in reply getting 234-2 (D Skirrow 81*, A Cade 88). And sightings of The Queen & Prince Philip too, all in all a good day out.

 | | Tewkesbury CC 2nd's v Woodmancote 2nd's
A few pictures from the batting innings against Woodmancote at home. I arrived a few overs into the game and left a few before the end but a man can only take so much of Steve batting.......please feel free to add your own comments to some of the lovely shots the afore mentioned Mr Bowers was playing lol
|
 | | TCC 1st XI v Kingsholm CC 1st XV
A scorching day brought a win of the toss for Tewkesbury and the unsurprising decision to bat. After the early loss of Si Vincent the score ticked along nicely, the skipper getting 47 and with a late flourish from Tubs Allcoat, 25 before being run out mindlessly by pie thrower Bowers, the score reached 178-8 in 45 overs. Whilst wickets fell at a steady rate in the Kingsholm reply so the runs mounted and they reached the required total with 5 wickets and nearly 7 overs to spare.
|
 | | TCC 1st XI v Stone CC 1st XV (Away)
A sunny day brought an away trip to Stone. Stone won the toss and elected to bat and finished on a total of 152-9 with Ed Tolley taking 5-34 off 13 overs. tewkesbury's reply started poorly and soon it was 18-2 and after a period of rebuilding wickets fell at regular intervals and TCC finished 133 all out.

 | | Tewkesbury RFC Dinner & Dance
A good night was had by all, the food was excellent and the party lasted long into the night.
Added 3 more tonight (Thursday) bit for some reason it has placed them in the wrong order)
|
 | | Tewkesbury CC 1st's v Fairford CC 1st's
The 1st league game of the season in the WEPL Glos Division saw Fairford the visitors and after winning the toss they decided to field with 7 players due to a car accident (story of the day it seems lol).
A studious start saw slow but steady progress and after Stu Tame got a half century others chipped in with 20's and a total of 170-6 was reached of our 45 overs.
The defence of the total started well and Stef got a wicket in his 1st over whilst Ed looked rusty at the other end, soon spin was introduced mixed with the skippers skidders and wickets fell at fairly regular intervals with Steve getting 1, Tash 3 and Nick Hill got in on the act with 2 as well as a catch and a run out and Fairford closed on 139-9.
It got pretty dark towards the end hence the grainy pictures.
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Ross on Wye RFC 1st's (Away)
Tewkesbury 18 - 5 Ross on Wye
A tough battle to bring the league season to a close and revenge for the defeat at home to Ross, our only loss in the league season. We never crossed the line for a try but Ant Richards kicked all the points and almost had a 100% record again but for a missed drop goal, he did however goet 4 penalties and a drop.
The final league table can be found here

|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Cheltenham Civil Service RFC 1st's (Home)
A fine display saw us run our very convincing 55-12 winners over Service. The rugby was a splendid as the weather & some good running rugby ensured 7 tries were scored, 5 for Matt Stone and one a piece for Jason Partridge & Tom Wilkinson with Ant Richards having a 100% kicking record of 7 convertions and 2 penalties.
For those of you with a fragile stomach you may wish to avoid the later photo's of Greg in his going away atire....not a pretty sight at all lol.
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Bishopston RFC 1st's (Home)
A sunny day brought the win we were seeking to ensure the league title after promotion was secured a few weeks earlier. After a shock early score from Bish, normal service was quickly resumed with a try by Simon Dawe which Ant Richards converted, tries followed for, Ben Bowers, Joel Bond, Matt Stone, Tom Cane & Paul Baker, Ant got 12 points in total from the boot. In all a good performance and it means the last 2 league games can now be enjoyed in a more relaxed manner for the supporters lol.
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Ashley Down Old Boys 1st's
A fine 36 - 8 win over Ashley Down Old Boys means just one more win is needed to secure the league title. A day of Sun, heavy rain & hail did nothing to dampen the win and tries for Martin Adams, Simon Bytheway, Joel Bond, Matt Stone & Tom Cane with Brad Maber getting 11 points with the boot. Some difficult lighting conditions has lead to some dark shots but I have done my best to make them viewable.
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Chipping Sodbury RFC 1st's (Away)
A trip to Chipping Sodbury brought a bit of a dour game not helped by the referee's keenness to wear out the pea in his whistle....
A 13 all draw ensued and whilst it is not a loss it won't be up there are one of the best games of the season.
The scorers were Matt Stone with a try and Ant Richards with a conversion and 2 penalties.
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Longlevens RFC 1st's
Another fine win and step closer to the league title. A good performance against possibly the best side we have played in the league this year, but still tries were scored by Matt Stone 2, Ant Richards & Paul Baker with Ant getting 18 points with the boot including a drop goal.
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Dursley RFC 1st's (Away)
A cold dull day but a spirited win and 2 more points in the league, and with Ross not playing it takes us 2 clear with 2 games in hand. There were tries for Shaun Everis (2) & Ant Richards with Ant getting 15 points off the boot
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Painswick RFC 1st's (Away)
A lovely spring day saw us travel to Painswick in the league. And after a slow start and 3 points conceided we came to life and never looked back. The final score was a 48-15 win and (I think but don't guarantee the scorers lol) tries for Matt Stone (3), Chris Dean (2), Ben Bowers and Chris Highes with Ant Richards getting 13 in kicks. So whilst the cup is over the march towards promotion continues at a pace.
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Brockworth RFC 1st's,Junior Vase 7th Round
A disappointing defeat in the 7th round of the cup 13-16. There were many factors which we all have views on so I will just publish the pictures and say that Simon Dawe scored the try and Ant Richards added the other 8 points, and congratulate Brock on their win
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Aretians 1st's (Away)
A trip to Aretians saw us come away with another good win and 2 more league points. There were tries for Simon Dawe (2), Chris Dean,Matt Stone & Ben Bowers with Ant Richards slotting a penalty and 2 Conversions.
The light was a bit dark by the end so a high iso was used so the shots might be a bit grainy.
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Brockworth RFC 1st's (Home)
A scrappy win 18-7 saw us complete a league double over Brockworth, there were tries for Matt Stone and Simon Dawe whilst Ant Richards added 8 points with the boot.
Some plesant winter sunshine was only spoilt on the photo's by my inability to take a decent shot for the 1st 20 mins, sorry folks
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Bishopston RFC 1st's,Junior Vase 6th Round
A fine performance saw us run out victors over Bish in the 6th round of the cup. Tries for Matt Stone (2), Simon Dawe and Chris Hughes & 12 points from Ant Richards lead to a comfortable 32-0 scoreline. A place in the last 16 is ahead of us now. The game also brought a 1st yellow for Stu Mc and 10 mins in the naughty corner lol. There is a little easter egg (to use a DVD term) in there this week, keep your eyes open for it.
The light was a bit ropey for photo's again but Serge Wilkinsons' new headwear didn't help the light sensor on my camera lol
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Bromyard RFC 1st's (Away)
We travelled to Bromyard for the rearranged EDF Energy Junior Vase 5th Round Midlands game. It started very brightly and saw us score inside 22 seconds and from there the result was inevitable, and TRFC ran out 57-3 winners, with tries for Si Dawe(4), Matt Stone (3), Ben Bowers and Joel Bond.
This was followed by Christmas Juumper night in the club so a few photo's from there are included
|
 | | Tewkesbury RFC 1st's v Bishopston RFC 1st's (Away)
A lovely crisp winters day and some good crisp clinical rugby on the pitch saw us run out convincing winners over Bish 37-5. I make no apologies for the number of photo's or the attempt at arty ones too lol
